Apprentice Bricklayer Competition

On Saturday June 16th beginning at 8 a.m. 13 or more Apprentices from La Crosse Local Union 1 as well as Unions throughout the state will be competing at our office to see who’s the most skilled apprentice bricklayer!  This is a challenge to the bricklayers, but also is an opportunity to build skills.  Contestants will be judged on a 150 brick and 8 block mock up wall that they must assemble, the criteria evaluated will be: plumb, level, craftsmanship, accuracy, measurements, and cleanliness.

All apprentices are trained on the job and required to have 400 hours of classroom instruction and 4280 hours on the job training.
