| The City of La Crosse "Welcome" Sign is located on the Great River Road. This is the road which welcomes visitors to La Crosse, WI. The monument was crafted over a three month period. After excavating the site a foundation was cast in place using concrete. On the concrete foundation, a concrete block backer was erected. A Biesanz natural Minnesota dolomite limestone veneer was laid in a random ashler pattern. Atop the monument sits a massive cast bronze statue of three Native Americans playing the game of lacrosse. |
